On behalf of the Calgary Vytautas Magnus Lithuanian School, I would like to ask all parents who are planning to send their children to the Lithuanian Saturday Schoolthis school year to let us know.
We would like to know how many children will be attending and their ages, in order to plan the school year’s program.
The main goal of our school is to provide children with a strong foundation in the
Lithuanian language in an engaging and enjoyable way. We also introduce students to
Lithuanian literature, history, culture, and topics related to Lithuanian national identity.
We strive to help our children maintain their Lithuanian heritage and proudly represent
their culture within Canada’s multicultural society.

A little information about the school:
The school accepts children from 5.5 years of age;
We meet once a month on Saturdays, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.;
The school will be held at the Southwood Community Hall or a similar one;
Younger students will study with teacher Greta Survilė, while older students will
study with teacher Aida Labanauskas;
The online school will also continue this year. Classes will be taught by
teachers Greta Survilė and Giedrė Naruševičiūtė. Students are welcome to
attend both the in-person and online schools. For more information about the
online school, please contact zykutegreta@gmail.com;
This year, there will not be a separate music class. However, teachers Aida and
Greta will lead students in Lithuanian games, song-listening activities, and
rhythm activities;
Annual fee for in-person school: CAD $70 (includes facility rental, student
records/agendas, and learning materials).
We welcome all students – both those who have attended the school in the past and
those who are new to the school. If you are planning for your children to attend in
person, please let me know by September 6, 2026, by email
Thank you,
Aida Labanauskas
